Synopsis: Dive into the heart of medieval Ireland with this historical tale of courage, deception, and the relentless pursuit of power.

Aoife, the defiant daughter of the dethroned King of Leinster, is thrust from a life of privilege into the heart of political and familial turmoil. Promised in marriage to the formidable Norman warrior, Strongbow, her life becomes a canvas of conflict, painted with the broad strokes of national upheaval and the intricate lines of personal betrayal.

As she navigates the treacherous landscape of medieval Ireland, Aoife faces the harrowing realities of power, loyalty, and betrayal. Her story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.

Amidst a backdrop of war, betrayal, and political intrigue, Aoife's indomitable spirit challenges the course of history. This compelling narrative weaves together the threads of love, loyalty, and the relentless pursuit of freedom, making it an essential read for fans of epic historical fiction.

My Review: The Price of a Throne is a biographical novel of Princess Aoife of Leinster. She was an Irish princess. Her father was the dethroned King of Leinster. They are forced to run to England, leaving her younger brother behind. Aoife never stopped wanting to free her brother. Later, Aoife enters into a political marriage with the Norman warrior, Strongbow. Aoife of Leinster is then caught in the middle of politics and war.

I found Aoife to be a very fascinating character. I thought that she was strong and tough. She knows how to fight. She also knows how to stand on her own in a male dominated world. I admired her strength, and I could see why she won the love of Strongbow. I also admired Aoife’s main goal of freeing her younger brother. It is clear that she has a strong love and loyalty to her family. There were a few times that I did not really understand her, and I found some of her actions to be very questionable. Nevertheless, she was a compelling character, and I was interested to see what happened to her.

Overall, this book is about family, war, love, and politics. I found most of the characters to be very likable, though there were some that I found to be very annoying. I thought that the pacing of this book was very uneven. There were moments that it was fast-paced, and there were moments that seemed to drag. Nevertheless, I admired the medieval setting of both Ireland and England. The Price of a Throne mostly reads like a soap opera! I am interested in reading the sequel once it comes out! I recommend this book for fans of The King’s Jewel, Queen Defiant, and The Lost Queen!

Jocasta is also a victim of fate. No matter how powerful she is as a queen of Thebes, she was powerless in preventing her own horrific destiny from coming true.      ...
