        My Review: Dolly Parton was one of America’s most beloved stars. Her death caused many people across the country to mourn her. Even Nashville International Airport is remaining their airport in her honor. She was the co-owner of Dollywood and founded the non-profit organization, Imagination Library. In this autobiography, Dolly Parton tells the story of her success. She tells of her childhood growing up poor in the Smoky Mountains. She also talks about how she got started into show business and became a huge name.


      I am a huge Dolly Parton fan! When I was a DJ at my local radio station, I played some of her greatest hits! I have also been to both Dollywood and her gas station multiple times and had a great time there. My daughter is signed up for Imagination Library. Therefore, Dolly Parton has been a huge presence in her household! I was very sad when Dolly Parton passed away! On the day she died, my husband’s grandfather lent me his copy of Dolly Parton’s autobiography. I readily devoured it, but not before having a box of tissues crying because we lost such a great woman!


      Overall, Dolly Parton’s autobiography is a delightful read! She was funny and honest! I also liked that she addressed many rumors that have surrounded her life. Because I read this book after she was gone, it was a profound read! There were times I thought the book was a bit disjointed. Nevertheless, I liked reading about her upbringing and how she achieved fame. I also liked how she incorporated words of wisdom in her autobiography about life. I loved how she had a complex relationship with God and that she had a strong faith! It is sad that Dolly Parton has left because she was a jewel! I will always treasure her words! This autobiography is not only a perfect read for her fans, but it is also one of the best celebrity autobiographies that I have ever read!
